چکیده

The controlled buckling piezoelectric structures can be used for stretchable energy harvesting due to the stretchability and piezoelectricity. In this paper, the ambient environmental excitation is modeled as a bound-limited white noise, and the random analysis is conducted to study the system response of controlled buckling structures. The spatial distribution of the harvestable energy is revealed, and the optimal locations of electrodes for maximal energy output are indicated. The optimal locations of electrodes are robust to the upper bound of environment excitation and the applied strain. This work provides a theoretical basis for stretchable energy harvesting using controlled buckling structures. VC 2013 American Institute of Physics. [http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.4789998]

Energy Harvesting Electrical from Nano Beam with Layer Piezoelectric under Random Vibration

In the present paper, electrical energy harvesting from random vibrations of an Euler-Bernoulli nano-beam with two piezoelectric layers is investigated. The beam is composed of an aluminum layer together with two piezoelectric ceramic layers (PZT 5A) serving as energy harvesting sensors. In the proposed method, the equations governing the bimorph nano-beam will be analytically derived using cla...

A Design of Mechanical Frequency Converter Linear and Non-linear Spring Combination for Energy Harvesting

In this study, the improvement of energy harvesting from wideband vibration with random change by using a combination of linear and nonlinear spring system is investigated. The system consists of curved beam spring for non-linear buckling, which supports the linear mass-spring resonator. Applying shock acceleration generates a snap through action to the buckling spring. From the FEM analysis, w...

A Modification on Applied Element Method for Linear Analysis of Structures in the Range of Small and Large Deformations Based on Energy Concept

In this paper, the formulation of a modified applied element method for linear analysis of structures in the range of small and large deformations is expressed. To calculate deformations in the structure, the minimum total potential energy principle is used. This method estimates the linear behavior of the structure in the range of small and large deformations, with a very good accuracy and low...

Effect of the Height Increasing on Steel Buildings Retrofitted by Buckling Restrained Bracing Systems and TTD Damper

The Behavior of conventional braced frames, are not the same in tension and compression. This problem can be improved by prevention of buckling under compressive loads, which is called buckling restrained brace(BRB). In this field TTD metal damper also have much attention due to simplicity in construction and execution. This damper is recommended because of accessing to better performance than ...

Small Scale Effect on the Buckling Analysis of a Double-Walled Carbon Nanotube under External Radial Pressure Using Energy Method

In this paper, using energy method, small scale effects on the buckling analysis of a double-walled carbon nanotube (DWCNT) under external radial pressure is studied. The constitutive equations derived for a DWCNT using the nonlocal theory of elasticity which Eringen are presented for the first time. By minimizing the second variation of the total energy for a DWCNT, hence, the value of the non...
